So, you just got the Crowka Pot, now what?

 Warnings

The Crowka Pot has much thicker walls than other traditional moka pot and retains heat for a long time. Please handle this with extreme caution because serious burns are possible.

The Crowka Pot has sharp edges. Please note that the Crowka Pot has the potential to cut skin. Though a majority of these problem areas should be addressed before the pot ever reaches you, beware.

How to Brew with Your Crowka Pot

1) Wash the Crowka Pot thoroughly, inside and out, with warm soapy water before use.

2) Fill the bottom boiler chamber with water, stopping just below the pressure valve.

3) Place the steel coffee basket into the boiler chamber.

4) Add medium-fine ground dark roast coffee, filling the basket almost to the top (do not pack it down).

5) Insert the coffee spout into the bird body from the bottom, then place the coffee ground filter on top.

6) Fit the silicone gasket around the filter. Note: the gasket seats best in one of its two orientations.

7) Screw the bird body and boiler together tightly—then give it an extra twist to ensure a firm seal.

8) Place the Crowka Pot on a medium-heat element. Heat slowly for best results.

Within a few minutes, coffee will begin flowing through the spout. Once you hear a loud gurgle, allow about 10 more seconds of brewing before removing the pot from heat. Cool under running water.
